Diabetes

Your name?
W.B. Sevens

What is your site called?
Diabetic Seniors

How old is the site?
DiabeticSeniors.com has been around for a while. We've been live since May of 2002 providing useful news, health information and ideas to help seniors live a healthier life.

What is the one unique feature of this site?
The uniqueness comes in the care and attention we give to writing for our audience, which constitues a very unique niche: Senior citizens who are concerned about diabetes.

Do you make money from this site?
We do earn money from advertising on the site, yes.

What is the main revenue stream for this site?
Our most rewarding probably springs from the synergies we have with Liberty Med

If you were to sell this site, how much do you think it would sell for?
There isn't any desire to sell Diabetic Seniors and probably won't be. As optimistic as I am and as much as I'd like to, I wouldn't be allowed to publicly speculate.

What are your plans with this site?
This is a great time for the Diabetic Seniors site. We're at a point in time when very large numbers of the north american populations are entering the elderly phase of life. Unfortunately, many of these elderly folks find themselves at a high risk for type 2 diabetes. Companies like Liberty Medical can efficiently home deliver diabetes supplies to this demographic. Many times medicare pays for the cost of delivery. We are expanding our site to get as much interesting and useful content that we possibly can to our visitors.

What sites are your biggest competitors?
There are lots of senior health sites like Senior Mag. There are also lots of sites getting the word out about diabetes such as Diabetes Monitor. However, I am not aware of a site that competes with Diabetic Seniors in both niches.

Do you rank well in search engines for this site? If yes, for what search terms?
We keep a close watch on the organic search performance of the site. At the moment, we are on the first page for the phrase, Liberty Medical Supplies. Of course, that can and does regularly change.

How have you promoted this site in the past?
We appear on Google paid search results through AdWords. We're linked on some of the popular diabetes sites like Mendosa.com.

Going forward how do you intend to promote this site?
We are very interested in establishing new link partnerships with other diabetes sites. We've created a special links section of the site and are excited about listing our favorite diabetes and health resources there. We are strong believers in partnerships.
